Sustainability

We are passionate about creating value that is sustainable and enduring which is why sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Our approach to sustainability is built on four key pillars,
guided by governance policies, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals
as developed by the United Nations.

These following 4 pillars are the foundation for our holistic sustainability philosophy.

We make sure to consider the landscape in full to make sure that all stakeholders are positively impacted.

THE HUMAN PILLAR

We strive to maintain and improve the dignity of all people in the communities we serve. We invest heavily in education, health and youth empowerment through programmes, projects and partnerships to transform women and youth.

THE ECONOMIC PILLAR

We endeavour to improve the standard of living of our beneficiaries, while ensuring value for money for our benefactors and stakeholders. We also strive to make sure that our interventions are self-sustaining in the medium to long term.

THE SOCIAL PILLAR

We are driven to preserve social capital by investing and creating services that make up our society’s framework. We build communities and conserve cultural heritage for future generations. We are always cognisant that what we do can have a tremendous effect on others and the world at large. We also focus on maintaining and improving social quality by amplifying cohesion, reciprocity and honesty.

THE ENVIRONMENT PILLAR

The environment and all natural resources are a gift. That’s why we make sure that our interventions are implemented without compromising the integrity of the environment and the needs of future generations. We place emphasis on achieving positive economic outcomes without doing any harm to the environment in the short or long term – according to Dunphy, Benveniste, Griffiths and Sutton (2000).

Governance & Sustainability Policy

We make sure to consider the landscape in full to make sure that all stakeholders are positively impacted.

OUR GOVERNANCE VALUES

- We act with honesty, integrity, transparency, accountability, and equity, as well as in accordance with laws and with respect to the interests of our stakeholders.

- We operate within the framework of Nigerian laws and regulations, relevant international laws and standards, and our Code of Ethics – as such, we ensure financial accountability and transparency; promote due process; reject discrimination, forced and child labour and corruption; and safeguard dignity, health and safety or all persons.

- We conduct our activities in a way that respects cultural, religious and ethnic heritages while creating social and economic impact to better the lives of our beneficiaries.

- We work with our stakeholders to meet our vision and collaborate with strategic partners and the government.

- We work to reduce the local environmental impact of our activities, implementing initiatives for biodiversity conservation and resources recovery.

QUALITY ASSURANCE POLICY

We are committed to exceeding the expectations of our stakeholders in our vision and mission to create social impact. To achieve this, we shall:

- develop a detailed strategic plan and remain focused on our objectives, by creating targeted programs.

- implement a documented Quality Management System (QMS), aligned with our goals and in accordance with applicable laws, international standards and best practice.

- understand the needs of our stakeholders.

- adopt a risk-based approach, promoting opportunities and eliminating or mitigating threats.

- demonstrate leadership and commitment to our QMS, setting KPIs and monitoring progress.

- provide adequate resources, infrastructure, capacity and knowledge for the management of the system.

- adopt the Plan-Do-Check-Act model to ensure continual improvement.

- periodically evaluate the performance of the QMS through audits and reviews.

OUR GOVERNANCE VISION

We want to be most renowned for creating impact and sustainable value in education, health and youth empowerment, in Africa.

OUR GOVERNANCE MISSION

It is our goal to adopt the culture of good governance, sustainable development principles and transparent behaviour in the conduct of our social impact activities. We will pursue social, environmental and ethical understanding and implications of our activities, engage with Stakeholders in order to eliminate or mitigate any negative social and environmental impacts of any activity, and ensure that we fulfil our ethical responsibility to subject programme communities, wider Stakeholders and the Nigerian society on the basis of sound principles and best practice.

We’re alignedwith the SDGs

Our focus on education, health and youth empowerment are each aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals. We’ve made it our mandate to align each mission to advance these goals.

We work to support “ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” (SDG 4) through prioritising education.

We work to support “ensuring healthy lives and promoting the wellbeing for all at all ages” (SDG 3) by prioritising health.

We work to support “promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth,
full and productive employment and decent work for all” (SDG 8) through prioritising
youth empowerment.
